canals, cycling and coffee shops - Part I

Last night I went to a nice coffee shop and had a nice coffee. Man, was it revitalizing. I enjoyed the company of four Brazilian people, two of which I shared a room with at the hostel. I cannot even begin to describe how good the coffee was.
it was an amazing experience!

I still feel a little caffeinated. whoo. deep breaths.

In other news...
Yesterday was a day of playing tourist. I jumped out of bed, chowed down breakfast..
(breakfast in the hostel was pitiful)
... and then went to the Anne Frank House. I decided to walk there which at first seemed like a daunting task but it was actually quite nice. Amsterdamites seem to start their days pretty late so I just walked along the Prinsengracht canal enjoying the morning quiet.

The house/musuem was so moving.
then I walked around some more, it was freeeezing.
had lunch at this sketchy but cheap place. (sketchy as in "I'm not so sure that was real beef in that hamburger" sketchy). but the fries were banging.
and the like the Dutch, I had the fries with mayo. not too shabby! mm!

then I took a canal cruise around the city, walked through the park, had dinner then went back to the hostel when the Brazilian girls said, "let's go out".. and the rest is history...

now, I am homeless. I have checked out of the hostel and am trying to kill some time before meeting up with a fellow dancer to stay at her place. with her kitty, yay!

it's kind of nice. just me and my backpacks. I have exactly everything that I need right here with me. No need for anything extra. and not really knowing where I'll land next.

liberating.
